TEHRAN: Iran’s Army Chief Major General Mohammad Bagheri has ordered a thorough investigation into the helicopter crash that resulted in the deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and others.
According to international media reports, General Bagheri has established a high-level committee to investigate the causes of the accident. This committee will be responsible for determining the reasons behind the crash.
Under the supervision of General Ali Abdollahi, Coordinator Deputy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Major General Bagheri dispatched a high-ranking delegation to East Azarbaijan. This delegation, comprising national and army technical experts, will thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the helicopter crash.
PM Shehbaz extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran during this time of sorrow and grief. “we pray and sympathasize with the family members of the martyrs and the people of Iran,” he added.
The Prime Minister described Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Raisi as a brilliant scholar and a visionary leader. “Today, Pakistan has lost a friend like Dr. Raisi, a sincere brother with high qualities,” PM Shehbaz remarked.
He acknowledged Dr. Raisi’s greatest contributions to his nation and his sincere efforts in strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and regional cooperation, noting that these would always be remembered. PM Shehbaz also recalled President Raisi’s recent visit to Pakistan, which further solidified the bilateral relations between the two countries. He concluded by praying for Allah to grant the departed souls a high place in paradise.
